Murmiland is a project by Ortwin Grüttner of Hannover, Lower Saxony. Since 1989, 60 hand-made marble runs were built. They are shown in exhibitions in and around Hannover, and all of them are playable by the visitors. Before you ask: All of the marble runs are single pieces and not for sale.
i know ive talked about how much of a fucking jungle university libraries are on here before but just now i was looking for a book and accidentally stumbled upon three solid bookshelves on a topic that the library database told me didnt exist two months ago and then i spontaneously lost cell phone connection as soon as i got to what i was actually trying to find and only regained it when i left the Book Hoard with my prize and that is exactly the kind of slightly-ominous feel that im talking about
I thought Terry Pratchett was exaggerating the descriptions of the Unseen University library for comedy, but it turns out university libraries are just Like That.
I worked in my University’s library for 2 semesters and one week the complete section on feminist studies and gender theory was gone. Just empty shelves. It’s a small library but there were around idk 500 books in that part of the library. And since i was only helping out I went to one of the actual members of the library staff and asked if the ‘gender’ section was moved and she got super nervous and replied ‘I don’t know what your talking about’ . The books later reappeared and there were also a lot of new books on the topic!
